WAC Schrammt at Sensation over: Red Bull Salzburg stands in the ÖFB Cup
The Wolfsberger AC is embedded past the Great Sensation in the ÖFB Cup semi-final. The Carinthians led on Wednesday against the Austrian serial master Red Bull Salzburg Lange and failed only in penalties.
Only a few experts and experts believed a real chance of the WAC. That changed after two minutes: Matthäus Tastener sanken after ingenious preliminary work by Michael Liendl the ball with the right on the bottom left in the Salzburg Gate.
Anyone who expected a rolling attack flood of the Champions League’s Octagonal Finalist in the following minutes was disappointed: Great scorchancies of the Salzburg were actually in the first round. The Wolfsberger acted toxic in the pressing and practiced more pressure.
In the second passage, the intensity of Matthias Joissles eleven rose, the crucial solutions to crack the WAC block, but were not found for the time being. After 77 minutes, however, it was still ringing: Joker Benjamin Sesko scored the right late 1: 1 compensation from the rotation. This also went to the extension.
There, sesko saw red in the 117th minute because of a high leg red – a hard decision, but for the Var but justifiable. But too late to influence the extension lasting – in the 30 minutes no longer fell, which fixed the penalty shootout.
There Red Bull Salzburg found the better end – because WAC offensive player Christopher failed early from the point.
