After Knauffs lightning start: Eintracht also wins at West Ham

Hammers coach David Moyes rotated six times compared to 0-1 at Chelsea on Sunday: instead of Fabianski, Coufal, Noble, Masuaku, Yarmolenko and Benrahma (all bank), Areola, Zouma, Bowen, Rice, Lanzini and Antonio began.

Antonio counters Frankfurt’s dream start

Eintracht managed a dream start in the game in the London Olympic Stadium. With the first attack, Knauff scored 1-0 after a soulful cross from Borré – only around 50 seconds had been completed. West Ham then needed a few minutes to catch himself, but then gradually set up on the SGE gate. In the 14th minute, the free Bowen only hit the post because Trapp was still slightly on the ball with the sole of the foot.

After a standard situation, the hammer managed to equalize in the middle of the first half. After a free kick flank, Zouma headed from the half field to Antonio, who pushing the ball into the goal from a short distance (21st).

After the 1-1, the pressure of the English declined noticeably again, the Hesse came into play better again and had the chance to take the lead again before the break before the break. Knauff narrowly moved out of the rotation (39.). So after an overall balanced first half, it went into the break with a draw.

KAMADA dusts to 2-1 – Trapp in luck

Eintracht also got the better start in the second half – even if Soucek posted the first chance for West Ham by direct acceptance (49.). But the Hesse were cold -nosed: after a successful move, Sow initially failed on Areola, but Kamada dusted the German representative 2-1 (54.).

In the further course, the Londoners became initiative again, but did not develop as much pressure as in the phase of the first half before 1: 1. Only Benrahma’s acceptance for Lanzini briefly caused momentum – and another aluminum hit with a rich spacer shot (68.). But Eintracht also remained dangerous. Kamada aluminum (79th) also hit with a shot that was still deflected by Dawson.

It was only in the final minutes that West Ham increased the pressure again and came through Bowen, which hit the lower edge of the crossbar with a full case, to a thick equalization chance (90.+2). So Frankfurt brought the narrow lead over time.
