DFB blocks Fortuna Düsseldorfs Ginczek
Fortuna Düsseldorf recently celebrated a 2-1 win against promotion aspirant SV Darmstadt 98, but lost striker Daniel Ginczek shortly before the end of the game, who saw red.
Ginczek was fouled at a counterattack by Darmstadt’s Klaus Gjasula and followed.
Referee Florian Badstübner (Windsbach) sent the attacker from the square just twelve minutes after he was substituted, Gjasula had to go down with yellow-red.
The DFB sports court now blocked Ginczek for two games after his “assault against the opponent” in an easier case.
Fortuna must therefore do without the 31-year-old veteran in the season finale on Sunday at FC St. Pauli (3:30 p.m., live! At Darmstadt Klaus).
And even at the start of the 2022/23 second division season, the attacker has to watch.
Furthermore, the attacker was fined with a fine of 5000 euros.
