Eintracht Frankfurt: Daum sees Kovac as the initiator of success
Former Eintracht coach Christoph Daum sees Niko Kovac as one of the main reasons for the current Frankfurt success.
“Under Niko Kovac, they developed an incredible cohesion. This was continuously continued by Fredi Bobic and other coaches,” said Daum before the final of the Europa League of the “German Press Agency”.
“International success has many fathers, but Niko Kovac is triggered with his work.” This ensured the “initial spark”. Daum trained Eintracht in 2011.
On Wednesday (9 p.m./RTL), the Hesse will meet the Glasgow Rangers in the first European final since 1980. Daum believes in the title of the team of coach Oliver Glasner.
“I assume that you will win the European Cup. You will then be in the Champions League, but you may lose Ndicka, Kostic and Hinteregger. That will then be a huge challenge,” predicted Daum.
The Austrian Adi Hütter only followed Kovac, who moved from Frankfurt to FC Bayern in 2018 and then his compatriot Glasner in the summer of 2021.
