“Incredible, this is really indescribable, but symptomatic for our season,” cheered Glatzel after the crazy 3: 2 (0: 1) success on the Baltic Sea at the “Sky” microphone: “Everyone has written down. We never gave up and have come back. ” In the relegation against Hertha BSC with coach Felix Magath, his team goes with the expectation “that we will climb up.

Of course, the HSV also tried very big drama on the last few meters of the hotly contested promotion race. Because through a goal by Nico Neidhart (13th) the red pants on the Baltic Sea were long ago and there were already a lot to fourth place in a row before striker Robert Glatzel (50th), captain Sebastian Schonlau (75.) and Joker Mikkel Kaufmann (85.) the game turned. The hit by Lukas Fröde (90.+1) came too late for Hansa.
“This is phenomenal. There is nothing better than winning such a game,” said Schonlau: “Today we are happy about third place, and then it goes full throttle to Berlin. We also want to win there, no question.”
HSV picks up a big deficit
The northern German had seven points behind the third place before the end of the season, a club in the 2nd division had never caught up with such a gap – until Sunday afternoon.
But in Rostock, the comfortable starting point with the relegation match ball first worked. While the former Bundesliga dino strangely cramped and worked without ideas, Hansa dictated tempo and rhythm of the game.
After 77 seconds, the guests were lucky that a header from Rostock’s midfielder Lukas Fröde clapped the crossbar.
HSV wakes up late
And Hamburg? This didn’t come up with much for a long time. Except for a header of defender Mario Vuskovic, who rushed past the left post, and an arch lamp by Sebastian Schonlau, the Hansa keeper Markus Kolke forced the only intervention in the first section, could not be seen to the front of the Walter team.
The second half then started with a Hamburg bang. After an exemplary Vuskovic flank, Glatzel hit his head.
The HSV then made a lot of steam – and was rewarded. First Sonny Kittel failed free -standing after a great combination – then Schonlau and merchant met.
